The Breckenridge Bucks: Wintry fun indoors, with excellent wine and food to boot

The Breckenridge Bucks and Glacier Yetis faced off January 29-30, 2016, at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. The Bucks won the series 15-7 and 7-3. Outside it was a snowy weekend, but inside hockey fans enjoyed fast-paced hockey, and tasty food, wine, beer, pizza, coffee, and hot buttered rum.

In 2015 Anomoi Wines took top honors for crafting the best red wine in Colorado with its 2013 Lips Syrah. To the appreciation of wine lovers in the crowd, we poured the current vintage of Anemoi’s Lips, which the Beverage Testing Institute recently awarded 93 Points. Our other offering was Anemoi’s 2014 Apeliotes, a blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Petit Verdot, and 14% Syrah. This wine was awarded 90 Points by the Beverage Testing Institute.

Breckenridge Distillery mixed up a tasty batch of hot buttered rum, which was an excellent alternative to hot chocolate or medium and dark roast coffees from Mug Shot Café. Breckenridge Brewery served Arnie Palmer Saison Farmhouse Ale and Avalanche Ale.
