Berry delicious. The Canyon Wind Cellars Petit Verdot 2010 offers a festival of berries in every glass. It literally bursts with flavor – big, robust, and decadent. It boasts a nose of dark fruit including blackberries, dark cherries, and plums. One sip and you’re committed to at least the rest of the glass, wanting more of the fruit, toasted oak, and baking spices.
Sunday dinner included a little bit of roast beef, a touch of zucchini and onions, and a lot of Petit Verdot. Not a bad way to end a weekend! With Wine Wednesday upon us, consider indulging in a bottle of this excellent Colorado wine.
Canyon Wind Cellars is the first winery in the Grand Valley when driving west to Palisade. It is named after the winds that blow through the Colorado mountain canyons and disperse in the valley. The winery’s terroir is well-suited to growing Bordeaux grapes including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
Until our next adventure in wine and food…
