With Memorial Day Weekend upon us, we can mark the unofficial start to summer. The first of the season’s Colorado Wine festivals kicks off tomorrow night, Friday, May 23: the Breckenridge Wine Extravaganza. Events for the indoor wine festival will be held at the Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center:
Friday, May 23 – Winemakers’ Dinner, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wines from Colorado wineries Garfield Estates and Avanti Winery will be paired with dishes made from ingredients grown and raised in Colorado. Flamenco guitarist Gary Meyers will provide the soundtrack for the evening. The ticket price includes bottles of wine to enjoy at home as well as admission to the Chocolate & Wine Pairing. Tickets are $138.00 per person or $250.00 for two.
Friday, May 23 – Chocolate & Wine Pairing, 7:00-9:30 p.m. Savor chocolates from Dove Chocolates, Fudge Ladies, Small Cakes Colorado, and Truffnies, as well as a chocolate fountain. Pair them with chocolate-friendly wines from Colorado’s Avanti Winery, Garfield Estates Winery, Kingman Estates, and Ryker’s Cellars. Tickets are $35.00 each; $60.00 for two; or $118.00 for four.
Saturday, May 24 – Wine Festival, 2:00-8:00 p.m., in the Colorado Ballroom. Sip and sample wines from Colorado wineries and foods from the culinary team of Beaver Run Resort. The ticket price includes a commemorative wine glass for the first 250 tasters to arrive, as well as a wine bottle tote. Taste away the day to live jazz from DOTSERO, Sarah Snead, and Flamenco guitarist Gary Meyers. Tickets are $80.00 each or $150.00 for two.
Sunday, May 25 – Wine Brunch, 11:00 a.m., Spencer’s Restaurant. Wake up with breakfast fare accompanied by Riesling, Blackberry Bliss, and Moscato from Spero Winery, and Marv’lous, Riesling, and Viognier from Kingman Estates.
Proceeds from the Breckenridge Wine Extravaganza benefit the Breckenridge Mountain Rotary Club.
