La Cima Mall sits at the south end of South Main Street in Breckenridge, Colorado. The mall is home to a number of restaurants, among them the cheerful Park & Main Quality Food. Its décor is simple and its walls are the color of the Colorado sky on a cloudless day. The staff is as friendly as the setting. We stopped by for a Sunday dinner that hit the spot after a weekend spent outdoors in Summit County.
The dinner menu offered a modern update on favorites, including cheeseburgers, shrimp and grits, and grilled pork tenderloin, with a global influence – e.g., Vegetarian Pad Thai, Sirloin with Wasabi Mashed Potatoes and Miso Glaze, Vietnamese Banh Mi, and Zucchini “Parm.” There were sliders (roast beet) and bruschetta (sweet corn). In the mood for deviled eggs? You could choose between one with Pecan Wood Bacon and Pickled Jalapenos or Sriracha with Wasabi Tobiko.
We opted for salads as starters. Two crisp, heathy collections of greens arrived, a Butter Lettuce Salad with Pickled Carrots, Cucumber, and Ranch Dressing, and a Caesar Salad. Next came dinner: a Kobe Beef Burger with Honey-Thyme Goat Cheese, Bourbon Onions, Bacon, Arugula, and Tomato, served with Garlic Parmesan Roasted Fingerlings, and a special flank steak served on a bed of sautéed mushrooms and asparagus.
Everything was delicious.
Park & Main is family friendly. Kids and other non-drinkers could choose from a number of alcohol-free cocktails. Those imbibing could choose from a selection of New World and Old World wines, cocktails, and a broad array of beer including local craft beer.
