The Breckenridge Bucks’ third home series against the Colorado Rampage at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena offered Halloween fun with discount tickets for fans wearing costumes and a Taco Trio from Featured Restaurant Rita’s Specialty Margs Taco Bar. Beer from Breckenridge Brewery and Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay from Canyon Wind Cellars sold out quickly, adding to the festive spirit.
This weekend the Breckenridge Bucks face The Colorado Thunderbirds in the Thanksgiving series. The Bucks are celebrating the opening of Ski Season by offering $5.00 admission to anyone who presents a ski pass.
The Bucks’ concessionaire partner is Whole Foods Market in Frisco, which makes healthy hot and cold foods, snacks, and hot chocolate, complete with marshmallows and whipped cream. The Halloween menu included buffalo wings, pulled pork sliders, chili, and chicken tortilla soup. Downstairs at Eric’s donated pizza.
In addition to its partners, the Bucks have a Featured Restaurant and Featured Colorado Winery program. Each home game weekend there is an “Orange Plate Special” (Blue Plate Special) from a local restaurant and a selection of wines in celebration of Colorado food and wine.
Rita’s Specialty Margs Taco Bar was the Featured Restaurant. They offered a Taco Trio with all of the fixings. Canyon Wind Cellars in Palisade was the Featured Colorado Winery. They poured Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, both from their 2014 vintage. Both wines were popular with the fans.
“Uma Thurman” from “Pulp Fiction” pours a selection from Breckenridge Brewery.
Stop by the Stephen C. West Ice Arena this Friday and Saturday nights to cheer on the Bucks in the Thanksgiving series. Thanksgiving leftovers will *not* be on the menu.
Until our next adventure in wine and food…
