The Breckenridge Bucks: Elevating the concession experience

The Breckenridge Bucks would like to ELEVATE the experience of attending a hockey game. The Bucks had their inaugural home game weekend October 2-3, 2015, at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena in Breckenridge. Over the two-day series more than 500 fans watched the Bucks take on the Aspen Leafs.

The Bucks have partnered with Whole Foods Market in Frisco as the main concessionaire. At each home game Whole Foods will provide an array of healthy hot and cold foods, snacks, and hot chocolate, complete with marshmallows and whipped cream. The foods are made fresh in the Frisco store.

In addition to its partners, the Bucks have launched a Featured Restaurant and Featured Colorado Winery program. Each home game weekend they will offer an “Orange Plate Special” (Blue Plate Special) from a local restaurant and a selection of wines in a celebration of Colorado food and wine.

Ridge Street Kitchen in Breckenridge was the first Featured Restaurant. They served Two Pulled Pork Sliders with a Bag of Homemade Chips. It was a smaller version of their well-regarded Pulled Pork Sandwich with Avocado and Red Onion. The crispy chips were a bonus.

Creekside Cellars in Evergreen was the Featured Colorado Winery. They poured WTF* Red (*Wine That’s Fun) red blend and Bianco, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, a thoughtful wine with good minerality and citrus notes on the nose and palate.

Breckenridge Blend, a proprietary blend of Starbucks Coffee from the store on Main Street in Breckenridge – one of only two proprietary blends in the country – was the perfect way to cap the evening. The Breckenridge Blend is woodsy and wonderful, and kept fans warm in the arena. For those wishing to avoid caffeine, Pike’s Place Roast (Decaffeinated) was available.
